About us: De 400 events for charity

Discover the story behind "The 400 events for charity", who we are, why we do what we do, and what we are proud of. Together, we make a difference for charities.

Our inspiration and start

It all started when loved ones in our circle, both young and old, were diagnosed with Alzheimer's. Initiator Eric Fintelman decided to cycle from Vaals to Den Helder in a single day to raise awareness for the disease. The enthusiastic responses led to the idea of linking this challenge to research by Radboud UMC into maintaining autonomy in dementia. Various cyclists joined in, and a substantial amount was raised. This success formed the basis for "The 400 events for charity." Whether it involves hundreds or thousands of euros, every contribution to a good cause is welcomed with open arms.

Our unique approach

We are immensely proud of everything we do. Our approach is unique because we throw ourselves heart and soul into every project. While it can be uncertain at some charities exactly what happens to your donation, we guarantee 100% transparency. You will be kept fully informed about how your contribution is spent, so you know exactly what impact you are making.

The team behind the initiatives

Eric Fintelman and Niels Pereboom are the men of the first hour. Eric is the driving force behind this website; he built it and puts most of his energy into it. Hetty Disbergen is the initiator of the very first event. She secured a large portion of the sponsors and, together with her daughter and Eric, designed the unique cycling jerseys. These jerseys are still available while supplies last!

Our dreams and goals

We dream of supporting all projects that cross our path. We want to help as many individuals and organizations as possible achieve their goals, whether it involves a local campaign or an international initiative like Elisha's Fish Shop. Together, we can make a lasting difference and create a positive impact on the world.
